First day

I am a Romanian math teacher who decided to become certified in Alberta. In order to teach in Calgary, I was asked to do some courses in education and English literature and composition. I've been living in Calgary for two years, and the part of the city I like the most is Fish Creek.
This course is very interesting, and I like a lot the idea of learning from each other. I am happy that I will learn, in a great classroom environment, to use software I've heard of but I haven't used it before.
What I learned today? Blogging and e-portfolios are very useful tools for teaching not only a second language, but also in teaching math or science. I realize now that almost everything we did on the paper, in the classroom, could be done online. Then that there are various types of e-portfolios. I also learned how to publish posts on my blog. I don’t have too much experience in blogging, and, before this afternoon, I had considered it as a way to loose time. Now I prefer blogs instead of students’ big files.
